Wondering if there is any way to pull remove some of the oil from ribs. The ribs are solid but worried about 5200 sticking. Thanks. Bill ---

No guarantees, and it depends hows badly they are soaked. I have used copious amounts of Brakleen, which evaporates the oil, on smaller spots. You need good ventilation. Downside is it also dries out the wood. The safest thing to do is to replace the rib. ---

Thanks. Thats kinda what i figured. Hoping there is a way since they are stable with no rot ie stay out of rabbit hole. Appreciate your response. Bill. ---

I used diatomaceous earth which is sold in bags at pool supply stores mixed with lacquer thinner and put on planks and battens and it pulled out the oil and I was able to paint with CPES. The 5200 stuck on the wood like it was new wood. ---
